16 May 審査は三種類 Three kinds of tests for kyu grading
Why are there three kinds of tests for your kyu grading?
Ki tests: Before anything, ki is extending. In order to do anything, extend ki. You can't do aikido if you are not paying attention to what you are doing.
Aiki exercises (done alone): Can you maintain unification of mind and body while you are moving? Can you do the movements properly by yourself?
Techniques (done with a partner): Now you are ready to try to throw another person.
