28 October 氣を合わせる Harmonizing Ki

"Aikido" - harmonizing ki. Does this mean we harmonize ki with our partner? With each person that we are with? No.

You go to school, how many kids are in your class? 20? 32? Can you change yourself to get along with each one? No - there are too many. And how many people in the whole world, 6 million? Can you imagine trying to harmonize your ki with each and every one? Impossible. Everyone is different.

But there is something we all have in common. We all share the rhythm of the universe. Everything falls at the same speed. When we do oneness rhythm exercises, our hands fall in the same rhythm.

When you throw with the rhythm of the universe, not only does your technique work better, but your partner enjoys falling!
